A clinical placement at Woorabinda Hospital is among the current highlights list for 2 Canadian nursing students who are on exchange at CQU Rockhampton this year.
The Canadian visitors at Woorabinda
Christine Simpson and Nicole Kelly say they have learnt a lot from their "unique experience of buzzing around" at Woorabinda, where they were made to feel very welcome.
The visitors explained that Woorabinda Hospital operates more like a doctor's clinic, which gave them a perspective quite different to anything they could have experienced in a standard hospital setting.
They said their Woorabinda experience included running a pre-school health promotion and talking on the township's radio station.
Christine and Nicole are in Rockhampton as part of a newly relaunched exchange agreement between CQU and the University of Windsor, in south-west Ontario. Christine is from Windsor and Nicole is from Markham near Toronto, where she is well known as a former competitive ice skater.
The pair have made the most of their time outside lectures to visit plenty of Australia's attractions, ranging from Cairns to Melbourne.
