Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Rail stress analysis an award winner 

CQUniversity Engineering graduate Mitchell Lees will receive the 2013 RTSA Railway Engineering Student Thesis Runner Up Award for his thesis entitled 'Rail Stress Analysis: An investigation into monitoring stresses in continuously welded rails through stress free temperature'.

The RTSA (Railway Technical Society of Australasia) is now planning a ceremony to present Mitchell's award.

Mitchell's project was supervised by Rockhampton Campus academic Nirmal Mandal.
