Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Free health checks on Rocky Campus 

Free health checks were recently provided on Rockhampton Campus

Nursing students currently doing placement with CQ Hospital and Health Service in the CQUniversity Health Clinic set up in the commercial centre precinct as part of a push to reduce the risk of stroke, heart disease and type 2 diabetes in the community.

The students helped people assess their health risks while offering free blood pressure and blood glucose tests.

These health checks were arranged by the CQ Hospital and Health Service and the CQUniversity Health Clinic.
