CQU Press records a lively life in the bush

Judge Charles Brabazon QC, author Frank Brabazon Rudd and CQU Press Director Professor David Myers recently attended the Brisbane launch of Frank's memoir of his life in the Central Queensland bush and in Rockhampton.

PhotoID:1228 The memoir is entitled Half a Lifetime in the Australian Bush.

Frank was a travelling salesman for the Walter Reid empire in the 1950s, the founder of Rockhampton Development Bureau, and stood for parliament with Sexy Rexy Pilbeam as his campaign manager in the 1960s.

This is a lively book. Frank's great grandfather was the con man who fraudulently promoted the 'Great Taranganba Gold Mines' near Rockhampton in 1887.

Frank's grandfather W.H. Rudd was the outspoken managing director of Walter Reid and Co. His other grandfather, C.J. Brabazon, owned vast outback stations at Elderslie, Walgra and Austral Downs.
