Staff who are CQUni graduates invited to networking lunch

Striving to be the 'most engaged' tertiary educator in Australia, CQUniversity has a key priority to strengthen the relationship between alumni and the University.

With this in mind, staff graduates have been invited to a ‘staff graduate lunch' hosted by the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (University Services), Alastair Dawson.  Alastair is the most senior of our staff graduates and has agreed to be Patron of the Staff Graduate Network.  During lunch, he will provide a short presentation and encourage an open conversation about leadership.

Functions have been organised in Bundaberg on Friday November 5 and in Mackay on Wednesday November 10.

Graduate Relations Manager Jo Nitz said the Staff Graduate Network has been established to support staff graduates/alumni by assisting with career development and enhancing graduates' social network and connectivity.

"Other campuses will not miss their opportunity to attend these functions, as more ‘staff graduate lunches' will be scheduled next year," Jo said.

"Staff who are graduates of the University are a particularly important group of people because of the strength of their ongoing connection to the University.

"People who choose to apply their skills and knowledge for the advancement of our students and region, in the very institution where they acquired skills and knowledge represent a special contribution to the reputation and effort of the University and we want to recognise and support them through the staff graduate network and other alumni benefits".

Alumni have access to a range of benefits including library access (electronic and catalogue), career development service, alumni discount study program, networking opportunities, bookshop discounts, assistance with locating classmates/friends, bi-monthly e-newsletter, Be Magazine and social networking opportunities.  Visit the Graduate/Relations website for more information http://www.graduates.cqu.edu.au/.

If you are a staff graduate of the University and would like to register your interest to attend the functions in Bundaberg and Mackay, or for further functions in 2011, contact the Graduate Relations Manager, Jo Nitz via email j.nitz@cqu.edu.au.
