Human Resources experts meet on Cap Coast

Over 60 delegates will attend the Australian Human Resources Institute Conference, supported by Central Queensland University, at Rydges Capricorn International Resort on Monday 16 August.

Hosted by the nation's peak professional body in human resource management, the conference will address people management issues including leadership challenges, the aging workforce, workplace conflict and succession planning.

Speakers include Jeff Farrell of Boeing Australia and Anthony Longland, Partner, Freehills Sydney, state and local industry leaders, and CQU's Prof. Elizabeth Taylor.

"The management of people within any organisation is extremely important and this conference is not just for those working fulltime in human resource management," emphasised Karen Windeknecht, Lecturer, School of Management, CQU Faculty of Business & Law.

"Many Central Queesland businesses are small businesses and therefore may not have the opportunity to employ someone dedicated to HRM. This is a terrific opportunity to hear from experts in many different areas of human resource management," she added.

The conference starts with a joint breakfast hosted by AHRI and the Rockhampton branch of the Australian Institute of Management..

Acknowledging the regional spread of membership, AHRI's State Councils have put together programs this month that, in addition to all capital cities, will see activities take place in Rockhampton & Cairns in Queensland, Bunbury in WA, and Central Coast NSW.

Anyone interested in attending the Rockhampton event are welcome and should register with the conference organisers on 3878 9242 or by visiting the website www.ahri.com.au
