CQUniversity Communications students Michelle Dann and Luke Brownlow have organised a fundraising barbecue on Rockhampton Campus, as they embark on a work placement with the RSPCA...
Open to all, the barbecue will be held from 11am-3pm on Monday July 25 in the barbecue area near Building 34 and all proceeds go to the RSPCA Rockhampton Pet Shop at 58 William St Rockhampton.

The students aim to boost the voice of this local not-for-profit organisation.
"We are aiming to get the community interested and to donate food which is constantly needed," Michelle says.
"We also want to get as many volunteers and foster carers on board as these people play an integral part in the organisation. Volunteers may include people who look after the administrative functions of the shop but they also help the Animal Ambulance which helps rescue animals which are in danger or have been injured.
"Foster carers are also needed to help foster animals that come in. The more fosters the better and RSPCA actually provide the carer with everything they need such as leads, food, toys, beds ... hence why they need the food.
"Our group also sees that it is important to recognise the efforts of all the volunteers and foster carers so we want to run an event that does this."
