Staff in 'red-blooded' support of community
Published on 17 July, 2008
Staff from CQUniversity have taken their 'red-blooded' support of community interaction to new levels, by signing up for the role of injured and bleeding airline passengers at an emergency exercise.
The Office of Development and Graduate Relations has participated in the Rockhampton Airport Management's Annual Emergency Planning Exercise at the Rockhampton Airport, this week.
Staff members going to great lengths to get involved
"Our team is supporting this initiative because they know how vital a safe airport is for the Rockhampton region and that their participation is in keeping with the role of the office - helping to make a positive difference to the lives of others," said Office Director Suzi Blair.
"The University relies on the airport in conducting our business and to provide lifestyle benefits for staff and students, so it's definitely in our interests to help keep it safe.
"Our team have been working with great focus and commitment to establish a suite of new services and channels that connect CQUniversity Australia with our external stakeholders, especially our graduates.
"It's a new team in a new office doing new jobs, so it's pretty challenging at these early stages because there's so much to do in establishing the Office - we are looking forward to doing something completely different for a few hours!"
The Office of Development and Graduate Relations is a new business unit for CQUniversity Australia. The Office has responsibility for relationship development with CQUniversity graduates and donors, corporate sponsorship and Rockhampton campus community relations.
