CQUniversity's Got Talent!

It's official - CQUniversity has talent!
Nine acts from the Rockhampton and Gladstone campuses entertained close to 100 staff last Friday night at the inaugural CQUniversity Revue. The event was co-hosted by the Vice-Chancellor and President's Division and the Marketing Directorate.
Some hidden talents were revealed, along with some that were probably best left concealed - the guys from ‘Survivor' ... you know who you are!
The act considered to have the ‘X' factor was the Zilzie Folklorica Quartet comprising Rob and Polly Reed and Tim and Dianne Crockford.
Second prize was awarded to Csabi Szeles for his guitar instrumental and third prize went to Richard Clegg for his violin piece Cantabile. Prizes were donated by Creative Image Hair Studio, CQUni Bookshop, Fresh Food From Kellyn's, Expresso Heaven and Corporate Express.
Other performances included a short film by Peter Lawrence and a rendition of Fly Me Jabiru Down, Scott sung to the tune of Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport - including wobble boards and tales of plane flights and near misses.
Just over $200 donated by attendees will be used to buy goods for CQUni's annual contribution to the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal.
Two of the acts were so popular, they have been invited, as special guests, to the CQUniversity Christmas Ball for an encore performance.
The Vice-Chancellor promises the Revue will be held again next year and that it will be bigger and better than ever - so start rehearsing!
