Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Tourism body offers free training for students 

Students interested in opportunities for part-time or casual employment in the tourism and hospitality industries can apply for a free 9-day training seminar offered by the Queensland Tourism Industry Council.

The seminars are being offered via the CQ TAFE Rockhampton (June 12-22) and CQ TAFE Gladstone (June 18-29) and are being promoted by CQU's Careers and Employment Service Coodinator Troy Dobinson.

Students are encouraged to register interest via info@qtic.com.au or via Debra on 0417 624 417 and to advise Troy via t.dobinson@cqu.edu.au  if they are registering or if they wish to be put on a wait-list for future courses of this type.
