Successful Think, Drink and Link at Bundy

CQU Bundaberg Foundation’s inaugural Think, Drink and Link was held recently on campus and was a great success.

The night provided the chance for invited guests to taste local drinks with wine from four local wineries, Bundaberg Rum and Bundaberg Ginger Beer all there to tempt taste buds. This was followed by presentations from the Bundaberg Winegrowers Association, Bundaberg Rum, and a local winemaker.

PhotoID:982 Thoughts were provoked by CQU Bundaberg’s Faculty of Business and Law sub dean and senior lecturer Dr Christine Murphy and Faculty of Arts Health and Sciences nursing lecturer Sonya Cleary who provided a thought provoking link to the University.

Dr Murphy’s personality game identified the squares, squiggles, triangles and squares in the crowd while Sonya Cleary left everyone with some final drinking thoughts.

Of course with any linking and drinking there should be music. Local string quartet Stringendo provided a great selection of music to keep feet tapping, with a link to the University-postgraduate student and tutor Wendy Davies who played the violin.

CQU Bundaberg Foundation Program Coordinator Deirdre Fagan-Pagliano said the night was a perfect chance to engage community members with the University while at the same time showcasing local products.

“There is such a variety of products and services to showcase in the Bundaberg region that the Think, Drink and Link session will be a regular event. It was great to see local parliamentarians both state and federal link with local community leaders and University staff.

“The feedback has been very positive and the next one is in the planning stage.
