Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Small Business Expert Visits CQ 

An expert in marketing small to mid-size companies will be in Rockhampton on Wednesday, May 22 to meet with Central Queensland business leaders.

Ian Chaston, Professor in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from the University of Plymouth and the Adjunct Professor at UNITEC in Auckland, is scheduled to be a guest speaker at the Australian Institute of Management breakfast meeting on May 22.

Professor Chaston will talk on "Small Business Marketing Management" at the Centre Point Motor Inn in Rockhamnpton at 7am. During his visit Professor Chaston will also meet with Central Queensland University (CQU) marketing and business students who study his work closely.

"Ian has written more than 20 books and is an exciting and stimulating mentor on the topics of small and medium-size enterprises and the development of entrepreneurship education programs," said Phil Bretherton of CQU's School of Marketing and Tourism.

Professor Chaston will discuss his latest research on networking, e-commerce and support services for small to medium enterprises.
