Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQUni supports Mackay Engineering College Open Day 

CQUniversity Mackay was on hand to support the Mackay Engineering College (MEC) Open Day recently, meeting with prospective students and industry stakeholders.

The Open Day was an opportunity for the community, industry and education representatives to tour the new facility, situated right beside CQUniversity on Boundary Road, Ooralea.

Visitors to the MEC were able to obtain information on CQUniversity's engineering and mining programs, as well as a wide range of other career options available.  

MEC is a facility developed for the five Education Queensland schools in the Mackay Region in partnership with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), universities and industry partners to provide entry-level career pathways into the manufacturing and engineering industries.
