Expo promotes Queensland resources

Mining, minerals and energy will be the focus of an expo to be staged in Central Queensland this year.

Central Queensland University has joined forces with the Rockhampton City Council, the Queensland Resources Council and Rockhampton Tourist & Business Information to stage the Queensland Resources Expo (QREX) in Rockhampton on May 23-26 this year.

PhotoID:3677 “QREX will become, not only an event at which those involved in the resource sector can access industry goods and services, but a venue, at which people from throughout the globe can learn about the contributions of Australia’s resource industries and trade in its technologies,” Rockhampton Mayor, Cr Margaret Strelow said.

The expo will feature a range of integrated activities related to mining, minerals processing and energy generation industries including an international conference, industry tours, networking opportunities, education centre for students and social events.

PhotoID:3678 QREX will also include a trade expo and should include more than 250 businesses providing goods and services to the Queensland resource industries.

The expo will provide a forum at which potential users of Queensland’s resources services can make contact with potential resource suppliers and service providers.
