Staff and students urged to learn how to save lives
Published on 04 September, 2007
CQU staff and students at regional campuses are encouraged to learn how to save lives as part of a Queensland Ambulance Service Guiness Book of Records attempt involving a simultaneous CPR training session at over 50 venues.
A cornerstone of the free event is that almost 70% of cardiac arrests occur within the home. Participation in the CPR training will provide knowledge and skills to help save the life of a loved one.
The event will be held from 2pm-2.45pm on Monday September 10 at:
MACKAY ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE, Gordon Street, Mackay
GLADSTONE PCYC, 56 Yarron Street, Gladstone
ROCKHAMPTON PCYC, Bridge Street, Rockhampton.
BUNDABERG, Bundaberg Civic Centre.
YEPPOON at the Queensland Ambulance Station.
Participants will perform CPR on specially designed pillows which will then be theirs to take home.
Interested people can register on line at http://www.ambulance.qld.gov.au/ or phone 1300 369 003 and participate in this worthwhile training.
CQU's Office of Development is pleased to connect CQU to this event, to enable each Campus to contribute to its own community.
