Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Mitch recognised for his healthy research record 

Among those recognised at the recent CQUniversity graduation ceremony in Rockhampton was Dr Mitch Duncan, who received the Vice-Chancellor's Award for Emerging Researchers.

This award acknowledges Mitch for his commitment to achieving an outstanding level of research excellence at CQUniversity.

Through his area of interest, Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion, Mitch has identified his research as 'behavioural epidemiology with a focus on identifying correlates of activity behaviours to improve health'.

Mitch has led successful funding applications; leads a multidisciplinary research team; supervises research higher degree candidates; and has published widely in his field.
