A group of CQU Foundation donors recently toured the University-owned Heritage Post Office and gave feedback on the University's plans for the building.
Among the visitors were Andrew Palmer (Rees R & Sydney Jones), Gary Stevenson (CEO Rockhampton City Council) and local businessman Gerald Victor.
CQU Foundation director Anne Gribbin said the Foundation planned to hold regular tours of the building with donors and encouraged feedback on the project. The University, via the CQU Foundation, has committed $3 million for the Post Office restoration and development. The magnificent building is set to become the headquarters for the proposed Central Queensland Health Partnership.
The CQ Regional Health Partnership has as its partners: CQU Foundation, three faculties of CQU, Mercy Health and Aged Care CQ, The University of Qld through its Rural Clinical School and is supported by Queensland Health, Rockhampton Division.
The Partnership will bring health care professionals, community workers and service providers from regional Queensland to Rockhampton’s central business district for specialist training which will meet the needs of our communities.
Unlike capital-city programs, this unique Rockhampton-based collaboration will offer regional professional development opportunities that will bolster the industry’s response to the current health care crisis in Central Queensland.
