Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Nulloo Yumbah students travel far to celebrate completion 

Three Nulloo Yumbah* students travelled long distances to receive their Tertiary Entry Program completion certificates, during a ceremony held as part of a recent residential school.

Melinda Mann travelled from Brisbane, Ivy Minniecon travelled from Mossman and Nicole Wone travelled from Bundaberg for the ceremony.

The students intend to further their studies with CQUniversity in the coming year.  Professor Angela Delves officiated at the ceremony which was followed by light refreshments in the courtyard.
