At the same time Ian Thorpe was shuttling between eight different training pools to keep his comeback under wraps, a group of potential champions in Rockhampton were looking for just one suitable place to train...

Rocky Swim Club coach Shane Kingston said his members were grateful as they are training for several state and national age championships this year. In addition, adult middle distance swimmer Matthew White will be aiming for open championships at both state and national level in 2011.
Club members swam their first laps at CQUniversity at the start of February and Mr Kingston praised the facilities, saying they were a step up from the school swimming pool.
"There's the gym facilities for the swimmers to use as well," he said.

Ms Hougan was chuffed to be able to support the potential swim stars of the future.
The former Canadian is now looking to draw on her experience working at a range of university sports centres across Australia to maximise use of the Rockhampton Campus sports ovals.
Jordan hopes to find the best mix of sporting codes for the facilities in hope of increasing usage and public visitation to the campus.
