Self-review starts preparations - Quality update
Published on 11 November, 2004
An organisational self-review will be the first major preparation in the lead-up to the Australian University Quality Agency (AUQA) audit of Central Queensland University.
Scheduled for October, 2005, the Australian University Quality Agency (AUQA) audit of CQU will look at the University’s quality assurance processes and will be released to the public, therefore it is necessary that the University has clear quality assurance processes and systems documented and implemented prior to the audit.
This week, the University’s quality team conducted several information sessions about CQU’s Quality Management Framework (QMF), which was endorsed by former Vice-Chancellor Professor Hancock in June this year.
The QMF provides the University’s strategic quality objectives and interfaces with each organisational unit’s Quality Management System (QMS).
The QMF also provides the structure which will be used for the upcoming activities and reports in preparation for AUQA’s visit.
The organisational self-review starts at the end of November and will continue in December 2004, involving eight teams of CQU staff conducting focus groups, interviews and collecting information to report on each of the Quality Key Dimensional Areas.
These are: Governance; Planning Leadership & Management; Teaching & Learning; Research; Community Engagement; International & Commercial Activities; Services & Facilities; and Staffing.
These reports, which will be complete before the Christmas closure, will be used along with other existing reports in further preparation activities.
