Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU Dean among 100 most influential 

Professor Elizabeth Taylor, AO, Dean of the James Goldston Faculty of Engineering and Physical Systems, has been named among Australia’s most influential engineers by Engineers Australia.

Professor Taylor, who also Chairs the Board of Professional Engineers in Queensland, was recognised for her achievements in the field and her contributions to the profession through the design and implementation of innovative academic programs and for promoting engineering as a career option, especially for women.

Professor Taylor was most recently appointed an officer of the Order of Australia.
