Student units tipped for Gladstone
Published on 25 March, 2004
Purpose-built student accommodation could be ready by 2005, according to CQU Gladstone Head of Campus Associate Professor Robert Prater.
Assoc Prof Prater is quoted by The Gladstone Observer as saying that the building would address the lack of affordable student accommodation and allow the campus to grow as intended.
The article says a 100-unit student residential building will be constructed on high density residential land within walking distance to the campus.
Construction is expected to start about the middle of this year.
Assoc Prof Prater is quoted as saying that a number of expressions of interest had been received from developers to construct the student residential building.
The article also contains supportive quotes from Student Association president Gary McMurtrie.
