Orientation helps Emerald students great set for Uni

New and continuing students will get a taste of campus life during CQUniversity Emerald's Orientation which will be held on Wednesday February 24.
There will be plenty of opportunities for fun activities and socialising, but Orientation has a special focus on accessing academic services and assistance.
CQUniversity Orientation caters for a broad range of participants, including school leavers, adult learners, on-campus students, distance and flex students.
During Orientation students will be linked with student mentors who have a vital role in getting new students comfortable with their new surroundings, and will continue to guide students throughout their first year of study.
Orientation coordinator Dr Gemma Mann says Orientation gives students the chance to meet key academics, program advisors and support staff and to find out what is important.
"We don't expect them to be able to do everything in the first week ... just to know what's important for them to find out," she said.
Students will discover how to use the University's online systems and get an introduction to their study program.
The CQUni Student Association will provide information on its services, and mentors will show students around campus.
