Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Doctoral graduate doubles as guest speaker for Sydney graduation 

Four Professional Doctorate graduates were among a total of 135 students from 25 countries of birth who celebrated at CQUniversity's Sydney graduation ceremony, at Sydney Town Hall on Wednesday May 11.

They are Felix Lo (A policy proposal for affordable homeownership in New South Wales); Paul Reyneke (A complex adaptive systems approach to reducing work-related injuries in New Zealand supermarkets); Deen Sanders (Professional enlightenment of financial planning in Australia) and S M Riad Shams (A relationship marketing model to enable sustainable growth of the Bangladesh Cricket Board: A stakeholder causal scope analysis).

Deen Sanders, who is Chief Professional Officer at the Financial Planning Association, took on the additional role as guest speaker for the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Bachelor of Accounting graduate Jin Yoo Mi Han delivered the closing address on behalf of graduates.
