Live overseas chat a regular classroom tool

Thanks to Skype technology, CQUniversity's Learning Management (Japanese) students are getting used to regular chats with students in Japan, to hone their language skills.

The next phase, in Term 3, is for other Learning Management students to learn how to teach English as a foreign language.

These future teachers will be interacting with students in Japan, China and Korea.

Meanwhile, the students specialising in Japanese have been able to follow on-screen instructions to focus their language training.

For example, they may have to use Japanese to describe a map reference or to explain a photograph, as they interact with their overseas partner.

Sometimes they just enjoy chatting about what they have seen on visits to Japan or what they would like to see on future visits.
