Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU Security gains Rotary Award 

The CQU Security team has been presented with a Rotary Pride of Workmanship Award.

The Rockhampton East Rotary Club president Adrian DeGroot and Vocational Service Director Robyn Ivett presented the award during a ceremony this week.

PhotoID:1267 The ceremony was held to acknowledge the dedication and loyalty of employees of companies from a variety of vocations.

CQU Security recipients for the Pride of Workmanship award for 2004 included John Poots, Darren Morris, Trent Thackerary, Damon Wells, Gary Curnow, Phill Rippon, Duaine Carr, Jamie McKean, Danial Oram and Mike Gorman.

Others to receive Pride of Workmanship Awards were Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service mechanic Russell Donaghey and disability service worker Jenny Smith.
