Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Academics take steps to move careers forward 

CQUniversity academics turned out for the launch of a career development program recently (Aug 5).

Academe is coordinated by the Office of Learning and Teaching and aims to assist academics in all stages of their careers to develop a suite of skills, knowledge and abilities specific to their careers.

Spokesperson Dale Trott said the program enables senior academics to support others in research, teaching, community engagement, leadership and management.
