Bell chimes for performing arts class

The Bell Shakespere touring company has presented a class for CQU Rockhampton Bachelor of Performing Arts students.

Company director Peta Downes is pictured giving a presentation.

PhotoID:1362 The students have a busy time ahead with a series of performances grouped under the banner of Con Carnavale.

The performances began this week with sell-out productions of Juice, a cautionary tale about responsibility and binge drinking (pictured below).

Con Carnavale will continue at CQU Rockhampton on the evening of Wednesday, June 2, with a free twilight screening by the acting for film class and free drama performances from the first and second-year BPA students.

On Friday, June 4, members of the public are invited to a fusion of dance and music event called ‘Collisions’. This event includes items choreographed by the students. It starts at 7.30pm.

PhotoID:1363 The live performances will feature up to 65 performers from the BPA program. Entry is $5 and tickets can be purchased at the door at the Walter Reid Cultural Centre on the night.

BPA coordinator Dr Emma Killion said the exciting production was based on the theme of passion.
