"It was amazing how quickly 20 pizzas were consumed and students were definitely buzzing on red cordial."
The Student Mentor & Leadership Program assists new students to quickly feel at home at CQUniversity and to provide support during their first year of tertiary studies.
Student Mentors are students who have 'been there' and survived, as well as having acquired a great deal of information about the tertiary education environment and how the 'system' works.
Mentors Jacqui Loudon and Carl Jensen hope to inspire new mentors to the program.Student Mentor benefits include: practical professional development, a certificate of achievement (a great addition to your CV) and a 10% discount on textbooks at the CQUniversity Bookshop. Additionally, there is a Presentation Dinner at the end of term two, which provides the opportunity to celebrate the year with fellow mentors.
The Gladstone office is keen to show the rest of CQUniversity how supportive Gladstone students are by getting as many student mentors as possible.
