From Canefields to St Kilda, top graduate keeps her options open

Recent CQU Mackay graduate Bobbi-Lea Dionysius has added a ‘faculty student of the year’ award to her diverse CV – along with achievements in singing, song-writing, stage combat and many other aspects of performing arts.
Since gaining her Bachelor of Music Theatre (Distinction) from the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Bobbi-Lea has found a niche as a singing teacher at her CyberFaerie Vocal Studios in St Kilda.
But she is actively seeking other gigs, via an agent (Janine J Cowie Management) and a comprehensive website (www.cyberfaerie.com/bobbi-lea).
In between auditions for theatre, vocal and television jobs, she has attended vocal masterclasses and screentest workshops with industry professionals.
While in Mackay, Bobbi-Lea was president of the BMT Club (a student-run club which fundraises to promote graduates to the industry) and her many roles included leads in the musicals ‘Aspects of Love’ and ‘Copacabana’.
She has previously performed with soul and pop bands, has a song-writing credit on an independent film (Eloise) and hopes to release her solo debut album next year.
With all these irons in the fire, it’s lucky Bobbi-Lea has learnt to be nimble as a top-level acrobat and trampolinist and as an accredited gymnastics coach.
She was also the proud recipient of a Golden Key Honour Scholar award, for her academic achievements at CQU.
