CQU Melbourne celebrates Diwali Festival

Diwali, the Festival of Lights, was celebrated at CQU Melbourne International Campus on Monday, October 23.

A platter of Ladoo and Lab Jamun was offered to students at reception, as well as a brochure outlining the history of the festival and how it is celebrated in India.

Well wishes including 'Happy New Year' and 'Happy Diwali' were exchanged with students as they came and went.

Many Indian students expressed delight that the University was both recognising the cultural event as well as providing familiar sweets.

Students from other cultures were interested to learn what the festival was all about.

The opportunity to take even a minute away from their focus on exams was heartily welcomed by students, all the more so for those whom the sweets were a taste of home.
