Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Marketing academic awarded by international journal publisher 

CQUniversity senior lecturer Dr Parves Sultan has earned an Emerald Literati Network Award for Excellence 2013 for his article entitled 'Service quality in a higher education context: an integrated model', published in the Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics...

Emerald Group, the international journal publisher, chose Dr Sultan's article as an 'Outstanding Paper Award Winner'.

The award-winning papers are chosen following consultation amongst the journal's editorial team, many of whom are eminent academics or practitioners.

A spokesperson for Emerald Group said Dr Sultan's paper was selected as it was "one of the most impressive pieces of work the team has seen throughout 2012".

Dr Sultan has been working at CQUniversity's School of Business and Law for the past 11 months and has published six papers in reputed and international Marketing journals and reviewed conference proceedings. He previously worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Canberra.
