Term 1 offers outpace 2009
Published on 04 February, 2010
Strong demand for CQUniversity undergraduate programs has continued, as the University releases more than 350 letters of offer today as part of QTAC's February offer round.
"We've pretty much made as many offers now as we did for all of Term 1 last year and we have about 3 more weeks before Term 1 begins, so we expect CQUniversity offers will have increased at least 5 to 10% over last year," explained spokesperson Mike Donahue.
Demand for university places in Central Queensland in Nursing, Environmental Health, Biomedical Science, Building Design and Building Surveying, Aviation, Arts, Exercise & Sport Science, Geoscience, Accounting and Financial Planning are largely attributed to the overall increase.
"Applications in tried-and-true areas like Nursing and Accounting are strong and newer programs like Aviation, Exercise & Sport Science and Financial Planning are proving to be very popular," added Donahue.
CQUniversity provided more than $500,000 in increased funding for scholarships and financial assistance this year to commencing students.
Term 1 starts on March 1, with Orientation for new students beginning on February 20. Hundreds of CQUniversity Student Mentors will be on campus and online to assist incoming students throughout Orientation and during their first year at university.
In the meantime there's still time to apply for Term 1 enrolment to study on-campus or by distance education. The University will consider applications for some programs up until the start of Term. More information can be obtained by calling CQUniversity at 13 CQUNI or 13 27 86.
