Gladstone Sub-Dean helps establish Women in Business program

CQU's Faculty of Business & Informatics Gladstone Sub-Dean, Jan Lewis has helped establish a Gladstone Region Women in Business Support Program.

Ms Lewis was a member of the Gladstone Area Promotion & Development Limited steering committee that set up the organisation and also assisted in the training needs analysis.

Meanwhile, Ruth Kinslow, a casual lecturer at CQU Gladstone, was recently elected president of the newly-formed group responsible for implementing the program.

GAPDL's Economic Development Unit has successfully secured funding from the Department of State Development Trade and Innovation for the new support program.

This program is one of the outcomes of the unit's Women in Business Needs Analysis.

The initiative will allow 20 business women in the Gladstone Region to access a 6-month program of group and one-on-one workshops and coaching sessions in order to achieve improved outcomes for their businesses and develop their professional skills.

The program will work closely with the newly established Business Women’s Network as it commences its activities.
