Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Student competes for Global Dance Award 

CQU Performing Arts student Dayna Fox will this weekend compete in Sydney alongside six other finalists for the 2006 Global Dance Award.

PhotoID:2941 The winner will receive a class scholarship in Los Angeles with a variety of skilled teachers and choreographers as well as a return flight to US and spending money. The runner-up will receive $1000 cash prize. More information can be found at www.globaldance.com.au .

Ms Fox, a third-year Bachelor of Performing Arts student, won through to the Sydney final based on her solo performance in the Rockhampton leg of the Global Dance Convention workshop series (hosted at CQU).
