Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU lecturer wins Excellence in Research Award 

Knowledge Management Lecturer and Phd student Louise Hawkins (right) was presented with a student excellence in research award at the Postgraduate Students Organization (PSO) awards evening recently.

PhotoID:2793 The excellence in research awards recognize candidates who have demonstrated a high standard of research throughout their candidature, and, more importantly, who have contributed to CQU’s research culture. Louise's PhD Title is 'The knowledge building process: Using activity theory to aid facilitators' knowledge articulation'.

"It would be great to see more FBI staff and students appearing in the list next time the awards are presented,” Louise said.

The award is presented by 2005 Postgraduate Students Organisation President Susan White.
