Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Black Santa to knock at your door

Nulloo Yumbah’s Black Santa will be doing his Christmas run next Tuesday, 17 December, to gather donations for charity.

PhotoID:497 Santa will be visiting CQU Rockhampton’s main campus in the morning, followed by the city campus sites after noon.

Santa, in conjunction with Nulloo Yumbah, is hoping that other faculties and divisions will help with the Christmas cheer by donating either money or toys to Anglicare. Anglicare receipts are available with donations over $2 tax deductible.

If you miss out on Santa’s visit, donations can be dropped off into the Nulloo Yumbah administration office by close of business on Tuesday.
