Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Women top Infocom scholarships 

Four of the five $2000 entry scholarships encouraging students to undertake study in information, communication and technology fields awarded by CQU's Faculty of Informatics and Communication went to female students.

PhotoID:1856 Among the recipients were Rockhampton students Sophie Jackson, recipient of the Women in Information Technology Scholarship, Suzannah Baker, recipient of the CQU Connections IT scholarship and Christopher Hudson, Julie-Anne Scott and Zeena Vessey, who were awarded CQU Continuing Scholarships.

The Women in Information Technology Scholarship is designed to encourage and assist female candidates to pursue their interest in IT. The CQU Connection IT scholarships aim to provide greater access, participation and success in higher education. The CQU Continuing Scholarship recognises students with an outstanding academic achievement.
