Coal country exporting performing arts gems

Central Queensland's conservatorium is becoming a powerhouse for music theatre and performing arts graduates who are finding success all over the world!
The Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM), part of CQUniversity's School of Creative and Performing Arts and with major hubs in Rockhampton and Mackay, is cheering the progress of graduates such as Las Vegas-based Jersey Boys' star Peter Saide, Mary Poppins (Melbourne) performer Liam McIlwain and USA-based Shakespearean actor Stephanie Lambourn.

The conservatorium has produced Ten Tenors members Dion Molinas and Steve Sowden, while Paul Tabone and Casey McCollow have found roles with Opera Queensland.
Jordan Edmeades has helped to develop the StuntFooty League Roadshow, Joanna Bagley has regular work with cruise ship productions in Europe and Carla De Jong is in a leadership role with ABC Children's TV.
Conservatorium graduate Raelene Isbester is active in musical theatre productions. Her TV credits include Blue Heelers and Neighbours and she can be seen in numerous short films and independent features.
Meanwhile, the Tigramuna Chilean music ensemble in Sydney features two graduates of CQCM's virtual conservatorium program - Carlos Villaneuva and Ednaldo Ignacio.
Recent graduate Brett O'Neill has started to gain professional roles, including the world premiere of In a Pink Tutu for the Sydney Fringe Festival, while four members of Brisbane's popular Cheap Fakes band and recent Toyota Star Maker Country Music Award winner Talia Wittman have also studied with the CQCM.
Graduate Julianne Clinch has performed in music theatre productions in both Brisbane and London, including a UK tour of Dick Whittington, while Justin Truloff (The Full Monty) has gained professional work.
