Cuddily koala makes an appearance

The CQ Koala Volunteers will be out in force at the CQ Multicultural Fair and CQU Rockhampton Open Day to support their work in providing funds and hands-on activity for koala research in Central Queensland.

PhotoID:2428 The activities include the ever-popular Cuddily Koala making regular appearances and community members are invited to take their own photos of family and friends with Cuddily for a gold coin donation.

The volunteers will have a photographic presentation in the Centre for Environmental Management tent situated near the main stage. Information on the group’s work will be available.

The group will be fundraising by selling Orphan Koalas, koala merchandise and attractively boxed chocolate coated macadamia nuts. The chocolates will also be available in the CQU Foundation tent situated in front of the main stage.

The CQ Koala Volunteers are currently raising $15,000 to provide a three-year scholarship to a PhD candidate for koala research. CQU will add $40,000 to the scholarship for the successful candidate.
