CQU hosts Shadow Health Minister

Federal Shadow Minister for Health Julia Gillard addressed a well-attended Women in Research luncheon at CQU Rockhampton yesterday.

PhotoID:2161 Member for Capricornia Kirsten Livermore also attended the event in the Capricorn Lounge.

Despite the fact the guest speaker had a case of the sniffles, her address was well received.

Ms Gillard talked about health and medical research funding, governance for management of research monies, and the government's role in ensuring standards.

Women in Research has a fully-refereed 'Women Doing Research' conference coming up at CQU Gladstone on November 24-25.
