Visitor advocates systems at heart of better learning

Visiting scholar Dr Philip Morgan has been helping CQU staff achieve a systematic approach to underpin student learning which is motivating and engaging.
Hosted by CQU's Academic Staff Development Unit, Dr Morgan has been explaining how lecturers can improve evaluation processes to gather evidence about their teaching effectiveness from multiple perspectives, including students and peers.
The University of Newcastle academic has recently won 8 local, state and national awards for teaching excellence, including 2 Carrick Awards for Australian University Teaching. His PhD also won both local and national awards and he is currently co-supervising 5 PhD students and is a chief investigator on a nationally funded project grant examining childhood obesity.
