Kids to role play in hospital corner
Published on 02 August, 2005
Children will have the chance to experience a simulated hospital setting in Kids Hospital Corner as part of the School of Nursing & Health’s Open Day display.
“Children will be able to climb into a hospital bed and role play with bandages and stethoscopes,” according to Coordinator of the display Kerry Reid-Searl.
“The aim of the display is to demystify hospitals for children.”.
Children will be supervised by nursing students and staff who will be on hand to answer any inquiries about CQU’s nursing programs.
This will be the seventh year the Kids Hospital Corner has been operating.
The Kids Hospital Corner will be staged in building 18.
Nursing staff and students will also be busy during the day performing basic health assessments. The assessments will include blood pressure and height and weight checks.
Coordinator Jennifer Jones said it was a great opportunity for visitors to get a glimpse at how their health is traveling and also provides an opportunity for people to sit down and rest for a few moments.
