Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Dean among 100 'most influential engineers'  

CQUniversity Executive Dean and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Elizabeth Taylor AO has again been named among 'Australia's Top 100 Most Influential Engineers'.

Professor Taylor is featured in the list compiled by 'The Magazine of Engineers Australia (Civil Edition)' and published this month (June, 2008).

The magazine says Professor Taylor has presided over a reorganisation of her CQUniversity Faculty into interdisciplinary groups with a greater emphasis on project-based learning.

It notes that Professor Taylor is president of the Australian Council of Engineering Deans and chair of the Queensland Board of Professional Engineers.

She is also deputy chair of the board of Engineers Media, publisher of Engineers Australia magazine, and on the board of RedR Australia.
