Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Survey says CQUniversity building and engineering graduates get the best pay 

Graduates from CQUniversity's undergraduate programs in Building and Engineering are the best paid in the country, according to the latest Australian Graduate Survey which compares new graduates from all Australian universities in various fields of study.

CQUniversity's median graduate salary was $22,500 more than the national median in the field of Building and $10,000 more than the national median in the field of Other Engineering.

In fact, CQUniversity's graduates led the way in all but one of the fields of education available for comparison, with big advantages also seen in Business Studies, Accounting, Health Other and Life Sciences.

Overall, CQUniversity graduates are earning a median annual salary of $45,000 compared to the national median salary of $44,000.

Data from the Australian Graduate Survey can be used to compare the average starting salaries of CQUniversity graduates in various fields with those of all other Australian graduates in the same field.
