CQU Gladstone hosts US professors

Two professors from Carleton College in Minnesota, USA, visited CQU’s Centre for Environmental Management and the Gladstone area last week. The visit was part of a Global Education Designs program that encourages overseas groups to come to Australia to undertake short periods of study.

The visiting professors are interested in bringing a group of College students to Australia in 2006 to study the marine environment at various locations. They are interested in making comparisons between impacted and non-impacted sites and have chosen Gladstone/Port Curtis as one of the study sites. The student course is expected to run for one or two weeks in February/March 2006.

The work will be conducted through the CEM, with students using CQU facilities and equipment where necessary.

CEM staff are looking forward to having the student group visit the University and hope they can offer on-going services to such programs.
