About 250 Year 11 and 12 students have a better understanding of what university is all about after they attended Discovery Day at Central Queensland University Rockhampton on Wednesday.
The students were given the opportunity to enquiry about programs and investigate the campus on a real “working day”.
Gladstone student Richard Russell was successful in winning the day’s prize, a personal computer sponsored by Munro’s Computers. To go into the draw for the computer students were required to follow the Discovery Day trail around campus finding answers to a list of questions about the University.
Coordinator of Discovery Day, Tina White said the annual event aimed to help potential students familiarise themselves with the University.
“It provided students a chance to discover what happens at University on a real working day,” Ms White said.
The students also enjoyed socialising in the University’s Birdcage Bar, eating pizza and listening to a live band.
