Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Ken Bruce in Europe to discuss future of financial planning 

Melbourne-based Associate Professor Ken Bruce was invited to participate in the United States Financial Planning Association's European Geographic Focus Group meeting in Nice recently.

Participants included financial planning practitioners and educators from Germany, France, UK, Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary, Canada, Ireland and the US.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the future of financial planning, professionalism of financial planners, the increasing global movement by regulators to ban product commissions and the challenges of growing the financial planning profession in Europe.

Ken was able to present his own current research on the professionalism of financial planners, which will involve interviews with Certified Financial Planner professionals in Australia, Kong Kong and the United States later this year.
