Melbourne-based Associate Professor Ken Bruce was invited to participate in the United States Financial Planning Association's European Geographic Focus Group meeting in Nice recently.
Participants included financial planning practitioners and educators from Germany, France, UK, Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary, Canada, Ireland and the US.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the future of financial planning, professionalism of financial planners, the increasing global movement by regulators to ban product commissions and the challenges of growing the financial planning profession in Europe.
Ken was able to present his own current research on the professionalism of financial planners, which will involve interviews with Certified Financial Planner professionals in Australia, Kong Kong and the United States later this year.
