Ashleigh's 'festive' approach to study

Creative Enterprise student Ashleigh McLean will take a 'festive' approach to her studies at the end of August - she's basing a major project on Yeppoon's Village Festival.

Along with another student - Camilla Niebling - Ashleigh will get a photo/video record of the event and also gauge feedback from audience members and participants.

The project report will help with planning, marketing and promotion of Yeppoon's Village Festival  in future years.

As part of the 'portal task' aspect, Ashleigh and Camilla have been doing extensive research about the festival in the lead-up to the big weekend (Aug 29-31).

The Village Festival of Arts & Music is the Capricorn Coast's major arts celebration, staged each year by the Keppel Coast Arts Council since 2002. This year's event will be staged at the Yeppoon Pony Club and is receiving sponsorship support from CQUniversity Australia.

Ashleigh's relationship with the University is a bit of a family affair as her mother is an education student and her brother has graduated from an IT degree.

She said she hoped to find a career pathway involving photography or interior design.
