Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Rockhampton Singers Sought for Unisong 

Unisong, a community choir based at Central Queensland University 's Rockhampton Campus, will start again next Tuesday, March 19.

Rehearsals run from 5.30pm-7pm in the Helene Jones Music Auditorium of the Creative Arts building each Tuesday.

The choir is made up of people from all walks of life - educators, students [secondary and tertiary] and community members - of all ages and both male and female.

Past musical highlights include performing in the Multicultural Fair, Queensland Biennial Festival of Music, the Rockhampton Gardens Symphony and as the choir for the Mayor's Carols by Candlelight for the past couple of years. Plans are well underway for performances for this year as well.
